Spam Comments; A Networking Nightmare

Published by majik at 1:22 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Just today I have been spending time trying to catch up with all of the blogs that I author and on this blog I found 187 comments to moderate.  Now if they were all from others trying to get my attention to go and visit their blog, I would stop by their blog for a visit and a read.  No.  One hundred seventy nine spam comments! Three blank comments and five comments that were actual comments.  Thanks to today’s comment moderation, I now know where to find thousands upon thousands of free porn links.

Spam is such a hassle when people decide to bomb your blog with it.  When you have to sort through hundreds of spam comments just to find one comment that someone has left you that actually adds to the content on your page, it really is a networking nightmare.  Sorting through a large amount of spam just to find one or two good comments gets tiring.  You might even accidentally delete a comment that is not spam.

I enjoy reading good comments, just like many other blog authors.  If you are out there trying to build your reader base, it is important to not only avoid leaving just your link behind but also to avoid comments like “nice blog” or “nice site” these don’t add to the content.  The better comment you leave behind the better chances are of some one coming back to your page.  So in conclusion, spam is supposed to be a lunch meat and not a tool to get you more traffic!
